Today your creative writing prompt is:
Well, no it isn’t. And yes it is. It is ‘missing’.
Like in my picture (I really did the jigsaw I’ve kept at the back of a cupboard for hundreds of years only to discover there’s a piece missing. Grrr!)
You can have a person, thing, pet, word, puzzle piece, relationship, whatever, missing. Where are they/is it? Why? How? You (or your character) can be missing something they must try to recover (sense, hope, purpose?).
Yada, yada, yada, you know the drill.
Write because you want to. Write because you have to. And write because there will be something missing from your life if you don’t.
If you are not inspired to write a poem, essay, short story or piece of memoir, try writing a journal entry questioning what is missing from your life right now. Freedom? Joy? Physical contact with other human beings?
Missing the point? Oh dear…
Back to Basics – if you need to catch up, it started here (but we’re nearly half way through, so you’ve a bit of catching up to do)
I intend posting prompts here each day (until May Day) at 5pm – alive at five (Dublin time).
