We’re already halfway through! Day 21 of 42 daily creative prompts (with some writing exercises thrown in for good measure). Today your prompt is:
Write an acrostic poem using the word:
A seven-line poem, each line beginning with a letter from the word ‘halfway’, with the word incorporated into the sense of the poem. Begin by writing the word vertically on your page (or screen) and take each line from there.
It can rhyme if you like.
It’s a bit of a challenge if poetry isn’t your thing, but it’s a good way to play with words. Giving you a structure and a subject to write about will encourage you to try to be original and inventive.
You could be really smart and have the letters as the final ones of each line, instead of the beginnings…
Failing that, as always you can write (or not) whatever comes to mind from the prompt, just write something! Anything halfway decent, that is.
Back to Basics – if you need to catch up, it began here (but we’re now half way through…)
I intend posting prompts here each day (until May Day) at 5pm – alive at five (Dublin time).
