Your creative writing prompt today is
This could be a place, an object or a person, only you will know for sure. Be as chilling as you dare!
If you can produce a short story of between 1,500 and 1,700 words on this theme, you may like to enter it into the Writing Magazine short story competition. The closing date is May 15th 2020, there is a fee of £6 for each story submitted, and a prize of £200 for the winner and £50 for the runner-up. You can enter on-line or by post.
Even if you don’t want to make your writing competitive, competitions like this can be good prompts – there’s a genre, a theme, a word count and a deadline, all which can be motivating.
Writing Magazine publishes the winning story in its print edition, and the story from the runner-up appears on-line.
Back to Basics – if you need to catch up, it started here (but we’re on the final stretch now…).
I intend posting prompts here each day (until May Day) at 5pm – alive at five (Dublin time)
